The Dark Side of the Moon

The campaign is almost over, and all Stretch Goals have been hit. Congratulations!

Upgrades to glowing paint for your reward will be +30% instead of +50% of the price:

• add just 4€ for the Saturn V set: €13 standard, €17 for glowing instead of €19.
• add just 7€ for the Apollo 7 set: €23 standard, €30 for glowing instead of €35.
• add just 10€ for the Apollo 11 set: €35 standard, €45 for glowing instead of €53.

Your dice will be hand painted in Europe with special glowing varnish. This is done side by side and the paint takes extra time to dry, so your reward might be delivered after the May 2020 deadline.

There is still time for a last Stretch Goal. If the campaign hits 425% you will be allowed to choose between the bright version of the set, with dark gray Touchdown d10/d10 and light gray Moon d12, or the dark version (new) with black Touchdown d10/d100 and dark gray Moon, at no additional cost.

Giant leaps on the d8 design

In the last few days I have been working on how to incorporate most of your suggestions in one coeherent numbered design. Unfortunately I could not come up with solutions about the lost astronauts or the many uncredited women collaborating to the space programs. In the following pictures you can recognize the themes you have brought up:

• the Apollo 8 mission (first orbiting the Moon) with its logo and suggestive Earthrise picture.
• the iconic sentence uttered by Neil Armstrong as he set foot on the Moon, and his footprint.
• the launch countdown, including a rising cloud of smoke underneath the Saturn V rocket.
• the flight path — the journey to the Moon and back again.

I still need your help to decide what to use on sides #4 and #7 of the Apollo d8 hypotesis.

You will be asked for your preference through a survey (the link will be sent in a backers only message) but feel free to comment here on what looks good and what could be made better.

What else?

Another Stretch Goal was hit! You will be able to upgrade your reward to silver paint at half the regular cost (+15% instead of +30%):

• add just 2€ for the Saturn V set: €13 standard, €15 in silver instead of €17.
• add just 3,5€ for the Apollo 7 set: €23 standard, €26,5 in silver instead of €30.
• add just 5 € for the Apollo 11 set: €35 standard, €40 in silver instead of €45.

Another day, another Stretch Goal hit!

All rewards featuring a full Apollo 7 dice set will now receive a free Full Moon d6. Since the Open Minded Bundle and Collectors' Bundles already include one, the backers of these rewards will be getting a nice couple:

Actually there is no need to guess what the new d8 will look like, because you can contribute to create it! At the moment we have the following ideas:

We are having a d8 already!

Third day, third Stretch Goal hit! And now it is your turn to be creative: you are welcome to provide suggestions for the numbered d8 in the set. 

Please consider the following requirements: 

• CONCEPTUAL:
• it must be related to the Apollo missions 
• it should be "serious" (no conspiracies)
• TECHNICAL:
• it will be one color paint on one color dice
• the graphics can't cross the borders  

Let's start!

There are two main directions to follow; a more difficult one where all sides are about the same theme, and an easier one with different themes on each side. Based on your output, we'll see which one is best.

For your inspiration:

• chosen topics could be related to face numbers (e.g. 1st footprint)
• it could include scientific or historical trivia
• it could have short words on it or small icons
• it could use Roman numerals
