Latest Updates from Our Project:

Happy New Moon
over 4 years ago – Mon, Dec 30, 2019 at 10:06:04 PM

Today is special.

We can choose to look back at the year that is ending, or to look forward to the new decade that will start tomorrow. In 2019 we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing; all going well, in the next few years we might witness first-hand a new round of exploration, with even more ambitious goals. There are plans to go back to the Moon by 2024, and explore its South Pole, in search for water and other critical resources needed for long-term exploration.

The new program has a name: Artemis, the twin sister of Apollo and goddess of the Moon in Greek mythology. It's not a coincidence that this program will bring the first woman on the Moon.

More Good News

The funds from Kickstarter arrived today, and in a few weeks the factory will start producing your sets! The lockdown deadline for your surveys is January 13th, but the sooner you all submit them, the sooner we can place an order with the final quantities. Moreover, to help unlocking the Stretch Goals, the online store will soon be open to the general public for pre-orders; if you wish to get any remaining limited item, do not wait too long. Your credit cards will only be charged again in early February.

Thank you again for helping to make this project a reality, and best wishes for your projects and new year resolutions as well: one day at the time, everything is on reach. Even the Moon!

One Small Step...
over 4 years ago – Sat, Dec 28, 2019 at 01:22:11 AM

Just one Small Step d4 was needed to officially unlock that design for manufacturing: we got it! There are still 200 backers that have yet to submit their surveys. Will they unlock the other two?

Christmas on the Moon
over 4 years ago – Wed, Dec 25, 2019 at 01:29:41 AM

On December 24, 1968, Apollo 8 astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders became the first humans to witness the Earth rising above the moon's barren surface. Now we can relive the astronauts' original experience, thanks to data from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. This video is a must see!

What else?

Oh, yes. Also the glowing version of the Space Wars! d6 is on its way to be sold out. But since the Small Step d4 stretch goal is about to be reached, and the Countdown d10 / d100 and blue Crescent d6 are halfway through, a new run of the Space Wars! d6 will be manufactured, so you can order again as many as you want, in all paint colors. And... all your pledge manager surveys have been sent. Let's celebrate!

Silver paint, in real life
over 4 years ago – Mon, Dec 23, 2019 at 01:27:48 AM

How do renders compare to the real life final product? Since the Space Wars! d6 have arrived one week before the campaign started, we have the opportunity to get an idea. Both the silver painted (left) and white painted (right) versions are extremely detailed and bright, however they react to the environment in a different way. The metallic paint reflects ambient light, appearing shimmering when exposed, but darker when in the shadow. The white paint instead is very contrasting in all lighting conditions:

In case you have added white painted Space Wars! d6 in the survey, and want silver now, please note that you can still go back and edit your answers. Good news: their price is similar.

Left: silver painted. Right: white painted.

What about Gold?

We can compare three flavors of Eclipse d10 manufactured in 2017 (white, gold, silver):

Very few golden painted dice have been ordered from the pledge manager, so if you are getting them you might end up with a rarity! The renders do not make justice to how bright they are.

And now,

for something completely different: some backers have caught a couple mistakes in the pledge manager setup. Namely, it wasn't possible to add-on a Light Blue Crescent d6 (as a stretch goal option) and the render for the glowing Countdown d10 / d100 was showing both dice as black, while the approved design had dark gray for the d10; for this reason that is the only glowing combination that the survey accepts. The correct rendering has been uploaded and looks like this:

Both dice in the silver, gold, and white painted versions will be black.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Let's Stretch!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Dec 21, 2019 at 09:36:16 PM

It's been just one day, and over 200 backers have already raided the Pledge Manager for goodies: the white painted Space Wars! d6 have sold out! There are still 500 painted in silver left, and about 100 glowing. Moreover your response to the Stretch Goal opportunities has been incredible: the Small Step d4 is well on its way to being manufactured, and while at this rate they might not reach the required treshold when all the surveys will have been submitted, there is still hope for the Countdown d10 / d100 and for the blue Crescent d6.

Will they be funded?

It's up to you, but to help you choosing take a look to these brand new renders from Q-Workshop!

If you have already submitted your survey and still want to add some dice, you can go back to it anytime through the link in the e-mail from Backerkit, or retrieve your link at https://apolloedition.backerkit.com/

It's been a long day... let's stretch!
