Latest Updates from Our Project:

They are coming... to get you
over 4 years ago – Thu, Dec 19, 2019 at 10:40:09 PM

The pledge manager setup is almost ready.

Before the weekend most of you will receive an e-mail from Backerkit with a personal link to an online survey, where you will be asked if you would like to swap any of your default d8, d12 or d20 to the alternatives unlocked through the Stretch Goals, and if you wish to upgrade your reward to silver painted or glowing at a discounted price.

The interface will let you easily add-on more full sets, bundles or singles not included in your original reward, and to help funding more new dice through further Stretch Goals: the Small Step d4, the Countdown d10 / d100, and more colors for the Crescent d6. And you will save on shipping, because the fees will be calculated on the exact weight of your order!

If you really need to get EVERYTHING NEW, you have the opportunity to switch your reward to the new Mission Report Bundle, coming with all the Stretch Goal dice and paint upgrade discounts at €55. You will find this option at the bottom of your survey's front page, under a green button.

You will also find some remaining dice from previous campaigns, a few third party items, and...

One More Thing: ALIENS!

As anticipated in the campaign page, there will be something completely new: more d6 to extend your Conspiracy Bundle, with jet fighters and alien invaders chasing each other all around these dice (also made by Q-Workshop). If you get a bunch, you could roll Space Wars!

You can read the value by counting the shots and the shooters. The explosion is worth 1.

The factory has just delivered a run of 1000 d6, including 330 white painted, 550 silver painted, and 150 glowing in the dark. You are being offered the chance to get as many as you want before anyone else :)

You will have time to submit your survey until January 13th, a Monday. Please note that you can access your survey through the same link, and to modify your selection anytime before lockdown. After then, you will only be allowed to change your shipping address. To help with your holiday finances, credit cards will not be charged before January 13th. Moreover please note that you will be able to place more orders later when the pledge manager will be open to the general public, so you have total freedom!

Launching more dice in 10..9...8...
over 4 years ago – Sun, Dec 15, 2019 at 12:03:19 AM

Time has come to show you all a possible addition to the current Apollo full set, originating from your suggestions for the Stretch Goal alternative d8. The Countdown d10 / d100:

Double pledge manager Stretch Goal: Black d100, Dark gray d10

They will be listed in the pledge manager as a Stretch Goal option, just like the Small Step d4. If less than 250 will be pre-ordered before charging your cards, they will be removed from your cart, and won't be manufactured anytime soon.

To blend well with the other dice, this couple uses the same base colors (black, dark gray) and lcd-style decorations of the Touchdown d10 / d100, while sporting a new paint color (orange).

In order to resemble a countdown timer, there is a zero before the single digits in the d10, consistently with the classic lcd notation 00:00... but this could have caused some confusion with the d100 when looking at the values upside-down, so they are discernible by their color, among other key visual cues: under all numbers a little arrow serves as a reading reference, and the values are arranged in a decreasing sequence in the same direction pointed by the arrow.

What are your thoughts? Your feedback is welcome and encouraged!

It's been a great ride... Thanks for joining in, making it possible! Constellation Dice - Apollo 50th Anniversary Edition will be manufactured in the upcoming months!

Kickstarter should have charged your credit cards by now (you have two weeks to fix any issue before they consider your pledge dropped). In the meanwhile, the pledge manager setup will be completed and tested. When it's ready you will be notified through a Kickstarter update, and receive an invitation e-mail from BackerKit.

The funds will arrive at the end of the year, and in January will be forwarded to the factory to pay for manufacturing. In order to be ready by then, first thing this week the designs will be double checked and advanced:  in the next update you will see more new renderings.

Flight Path! And...
over 4 years ago – Mon, Dec 09, 2019 at 11:00:08 PM

It looks like we have a clear winner! The Flight Path d8 will be manufactured as alternative d8.

Grateful thanks to all of you who provided inspiration and feedback, by commenting or voting. The Apollo missions were an example of highly focused cooperation, so I am glad that we managed to work together on a design for this campaign.

Aside from the vast consensus on the winning d8, some backers took the time to suggest how we could improve the other designs, or to express why those would not be the right choice. For example, a countdown should not start at 8, and the limited space makes it hard to include recognizable icons for the rocket, the footprint, and to illustrate Apollo 8 trivia.

Some more backers naturally wanted ALL the variants, but what if instead of too many d8 we could try other polyhedrals? The countdown would fit better on a d10, and the iconic sentence by Armstrong would flow better on the sides of a d4. While I worked on both, I would like to show you the one that came out best. Please welcome the Small Step d4.

Disclaimer : the original footprint on the Moon was not harmed to create this picture.

Since the above render had to be purposedly degraded to blend with the footprint, here is the plan: the footprint icon would not fit, so we use the Moon from Earth, and Earth from the Moon. There is also enough space left (pun intended) to include small stars displaying the roll value. All the "ones" are on top of the lines starting with "one", and of above "for mankind". By doing this way, the debated line "for (a) man" will not be evident while the d4 is on display.

The footprint would not fit, so we have the Moon from Earth, and Earth from the Moon.

But how to fund it?

Even if this campaign will be over tomorrow, our pledge manager of choice (BackerKit) now offers an interesting "stretch goal" feature. That is, while you will be allowed to order one or more Small Step d4 just like any other add-ons, it will only be manufactured if enough people chime in and order a minimum factory amount. In case it is not funded at the time of pledge manager lock-down, it will simply disappear from your cart :( and of course you will not be charged for it.

Let's celebrate!

The last stretch goal of the live campaign has been just hit, and the dark variant of the Apollo Set can be obtained at no additional cost. By the way, please note that you don't need to overpledge for add-ons or paint upgrades right now: the pledge manager is fine tuned to help you do that with a much better interface than Kickstarter! :)
